Our Training

We invest in developing our people and supporting their growth.
We invest in training and professional development because it directly benefits the children we support.

Continuous learning is how we make sure our people have the most effective tools available to them.

At Stepping Stones Care, we invest in training and professional development because it directly benefits the children we support.

We offer structured training pathways and ongoing learning opportunities so you can grow your expertise while building a rewarding career and every step forward means improved support for the young people in our care.

“New staff members receive a comprehensive induction. This means that all staff receive consistency in their training and learning about the therapeutic ethos of the home.”

Ofsted
Everyone completes a three-week induction, but the training doesn't stop there.

Your Induction

Everyone completes the same three-week induction, combining nine days of classroom learning with three shadow shifts. What makes it different is that it’s taught by our own people – Registered Managers, Deputy Managers, and our clinical team – grounded in our homes and young people, not generic manuals. On average, 23 days pass between joining and working your first shift, giving you time to arrive prepared.

After Your Induction

Training continues with home-specific programmes tailored to the children in your care, plus annual refresher training that builds year on year. We run three development programmes for progression: Senior Development, Deputy Development, and Registered Manager Development – each mapped to the Career Progression Pathway so training and progression align. When we need specialist input, we work with a small, consistent group of external trainers who know our homes and model.
