Our Model of Care

A comprehensive, child-centred framework to support long-term wellbeing.

A comprehensive,
child-centred framework.

Built on five key steps, it guides every aspect of our therapeutic approach — addressing immediate needs while building a strong foundation for a brighter, more resilient future.

This structured, step-by-step approach ensures every child in our care receives consistent, high-quality support that honours their individuality while promoting lasting positive outcomes.

Our STEPS Model of Care

  • Seek to Understand
  • Thoughtful Care
  • Enabling Meaningful Relationships
  • Progressing Beyond Trauma
  • Successful Transitions
Step 01

Seek to Understand

The first step is to Seek to Understand. We take time to truly know each child — their unique experiences, background, emotions, and individual challenges. By listening deeply and gaining genuine insight, our care team can tailor support that meets each child exactly where they are.
Step 02

Thoughtful Care

Thoughtful Care is about delivering intentional, compassionate support in a safe and nurturing environment. We go beyond immediate needs to create a consistent sense of security and belonging. This foundation of trust is essential for emotional healing and mental wellbeing.
Step 03

Enabling Meaningful Relationships

We believe meaningful relationships are the cornerstone of healthy development. In this step, we actively foster positive connections between children, caregivers, peers, and the wider support network. Through these relationships, children build vital social and emotional skills that will serve them throughout life.
Step 04

Progressing Beyond Trauma

Many of the children we support have experienced trauma. Progressing Beyond Trauma focuses on gentle, evidence-informed healing. With specialised therapeutic interventions and a trauma-informed environment, we help children process their past, develop coping strategies, and move forward with hope and confidence.
Step 05

Successful Transitions

Transitions — whether moving between homes, schools, or caregivers — can be especially difficult. Our final step, Successful Transitions, equips children with the tools, skills, and emotional support they need to navigate change successfully. We prepare them thoughtfully so they can approach new chapters with greater confidence and stability.
